Privacy Policy

Counterslate is a digital menu board service for restaurants, operated by Amplifire Solutions ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information Counterslate collects when a business uses it, how we use that information, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect only what we need to show your menu on your TVs, and we do not sell your information or share it for advertising.
Information we collect
Business account information. Your business name and a private account key that signs you in. Counterslate does not ask for personal names, home addresses or payment card details.
Clover information. When you install Counterslate from the Clover App Market, Clover gives us your Clover merchant ID and a sign-in token that lets Counterslate read your inventory. We only request read access to inventory: item names, prices, categories and whether an item is available. We do not request, and cannot see, your payments, orders, customers or employees, and Counterslate never changes anything in your Clover account. Your Clover tokens are stored encrypted.
Menu content you create. The boards you set up, including board names, the Clover categories they show, items you choose to hide, display names you give items, and any menu photos or item lists you add yourself.
Screen information. For each TV you connect: its pairing code, the name you give it, which board it shows, and when it last checked in, so we can show you whether it is online.
Technical information. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which can include IP addresses, browser type and the time of requests. We use these only to keep the service running and secure. The Counterslate setup page saves your sign-in in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking.
How we use it
We use this information only to run Counterslate: showing your menu on your TVs, keeping boards in sync with Clover, letting you manage your boards and screens, providing support, and protecting the service against misuse. We read your Clover inventory when your boards need it and hold it in memory for about 15 seconds at a time. We do not keep a stored copy of your Clover inventory.
What we don't do
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or share it with anyone for their marketing or advertising. We do not use it to advertise to you.
Who else handles it
We share information only with the service providers that make Counterslate work, and only for that purpose:
Clover (Fiserv), which provides your inventory data and handles sign-in through your Clover account. Render, which hosts the Counterslate servers and stores our data in the United States.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the service. If Counterslate is ever sold or merged into another business, this policy would continue to apply to information collected under it.
How long we keep it
When you uninstall Counterslate from your Clover account, we delete your Clover sign-in tokens and stop reading your inventory. Your Counterslate account, boards and screen settings stay until you ask us to delete them, so reinstalling picks up where you left off. To delete your account and everything in it, email us at the address below and we will do it within 30 days.
Security
Counterslate uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections, encrypts stored Clover tokens, and requests the smallest set of Clover permissions it needs. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify affected businesses if a breach affects their data.
Children
Counterslate is a service for businesses. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
You can change your boards and screens at any time from the setup page, disconnect a TV, or uninstall Counterslate from Clover. You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about your business, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing us.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
This website and its sign-up form
When you fill in the form on counterslate.com, we collect what you type: your email address, restaurant name, the POS you use and how many screens you have, plus the time you sent it. We use it only to contact you about Counterslate. The website and the form are hosted by Cloudflare, which stores form entries for us in the United States, and email to our counterslate.com addresses is forwarded through Cloudflare. To see what we hold or have it deleted, email us at the address below.
To understand how the site is used, we count page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics and count clicks on a few buttons (for example "Get early access" or the demo). These counts are anonymous: they do not use cookies, do not record your IP address, and are not used to identify or follow you. The website does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking.
